From a young age I have always loved being around animals from pet dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs to feeding family and neighbours cats, chickens and farm collies. After leaving school I went on to do a short stint of human nursing at University but decided this wasn't the career for me. I then studied an HNC and HND in Animal Care at SRUC Barony. This led me to a job at Dumfries & Galloway Canine Rescue Centre for four years, working with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, finding them new homes. Deciding I wanted a slight change, I applied to do Veterinary Nursing at SRUC Barony and graduated in 2018.

I work solely with small animals which includes dogs, cats and smaller furries such as rabbits and guinea pigs. I have particular interest in working with cats and I am currently studying for a Certificate in Feline Nursing through the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM)

Most of my spare time involves chasing after my 2 year old little boy but when I have a minute to myself I enjoy flyball with my Springer Spaniel Nessie and looking after the rest of my animals which include 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and a few chickens!
