I have come to the veterinary industry late in life and am what some may call, a mature student. No, I'm not telling you my age!! I have previously worked in customer service and accountancy.

I started my time at Eden and Border vets on reception in August 2021, after a busy year on reception I enrolled onto a veterinary nursing course at Myerscough College and started my role as a Student Vet Nurse.

My favourite part of practice is pet and client interaction in consultations. I love meeting new people and hearing all about your pet stories and hopefully, I can help put you at ease if we are meeting under difficult circumstances.

Being a student nurse is both challenging and very rewarding. When lecturers and vets speak about exotics I still immediately think elephants, monkeys, snakes and scorpions that were often part of daily life growing up in India, and not the lovely Guinea pigs and rabbits we see here in practice.

I have always been surrounded by animals, growing up on a working farm in India and being exposed to some amazing wildlife. We always had numerous dogs and cats. One of our dogs once even alerted us to a huge king cobra snake behind a bookcase in our house!

I have a passion for cats and a particular soft spot for ginger males with character! My husband and I belong to a lovely ginger boy named Jaffa, we have been at his beck and call for fourteen years now. Eden vets saved him when he once decided to play chicken with a car some years ago.

I have now lived in the U.K. for 22 years and still struggle with the weather and these lighter nights. When I am not at work or studying, you might find me up a fell or travelling with my husband, we love a good road trip and have a scratch off travel map of the world which we are determined to complete! Or you may find me with my nose in a good book. I also love to tinkle on my piano and play badminton when I get the chance.
