Pip McLachlan - Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Pip McLachlan BA VetMB MRCVS Senior Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated for Cambridge Vet School in 2003 and entered the profession with a drive to offer veterinary care to my patients and clients to a standard that I would wish for myself and my own pets. I quickly developed a passion for surgery and was fortunate to spend time in a local referral centre gaining knowledge and experience in the early stages of my career.

My first child was the practice that I owned in Hertfordshire for 13 years, however something had to give when my human child came along, so I sold the practice and took a career break. During this time, I set up a paint your own pottery studio and enjoyed spending time with people (and the odd pet in for paw printing!) discovering their creativity and the peace art can bring.

Veterinary was never far from my heart and when we moved to Cumbria in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, I was keen to return to the profession. I am currently studying for a certificate in small animal surgery and enjoy putting all my new knowledge and skills into practice to help my patients and the development of our younger vets and nurses. Beware ... if you own a labrador you will be told tales of how my young lab has pretty much stolen my heart!
